Fic Catchup post 2 So yes, it seems that I am still writing. Even to the extent that I may have to start parallel posting here and in LJ...
And why, you ask, have I managed to keep writing after completely failing to write anything creative for months? The answer comes in two parts:
1. I love the LJ comm Taming the Muse. It encourages me to write without forcing unnecessary constrictions. I
want to keep going, week after week.
2. Oh dear, I fell into a pretty baby fandom.
This fandom is for the BBCs new "family" show in the Dr Who slot -
Merlin (
Official website)
This is basically a Smallville-esque retelling of the Arthurian legends with Arthur, Merlin et al as young adults growing up together in a fantasy-romance version of Camelot. It's really guilty pleasure watching.
And yes - in ep 4 Merlin does writhe around on his bed calling out, "Arthur.. Arthur!.. Faster... Go faster!" (I think that's enough of a reason by itself to watch this show!)
So, because I know a lot of people on my flist haven't seen it (so far there are only 5 eps anyway), I have written an intro post with pretty pictures
here.
And then I started writing fic:
LiveryArthur/Merlin. PG. (Taming the muse prompt "Claddagh")
TogetherArthur/Merlin/Lancelot. R.
Arthur's AfternoonArthur/Merlin/Lancelot. NC17.
And so it came to passMultiple pairings. PG. (Taming the muse prompt "mortal coil")
And now I'm starting to think I need to write something bigger and more satisfying that I can actually sink my teeth into. I feel like my rusty writing muscles are actually starting to warm up again and I want to give myself a bit more of a challenge.
